Next we are sure you will join us in wishing Maureen Kennedy a speedy recovery following her recent stay in hospital.
Elsewhere top news is the release of our Granada calendar details of which appear elsewhere. I am sure most will agree this is very well put together and while it may for whatever reason not appeal to absolutely everybody [then again what calendar of any type does?] it is worth remembering that both this and every other aspect of your Guild is undertaken on a totally voluntary basis – at times some activities can be and indeed are extremely time consuming which is no mean feat given that it is people’s spare time being devoted to such things.
Moving along the bus now many thanks to all of you who have renewed your membership recently. Your membership cards will be sent out when they have been dated [for those who sent theirs in !] any others will follow on in due course (Mr Kempson has run out of them in other words!).
Full contact details for your new Committee have now been added to the contact page.
In this edition we unveil our nice new feature Your Car’s The Star which is basically a bit of history and a story about your car – our thanks to Nick Edwards for his article.
Our illustrious Chairman regales us with an account of his excursion to the Belgium area [among other items], Rod Tebble reports on the Norwich show and our ‘Granada years’ features events of 1979.
Meanwhile our very own Creed B has written in to say . . . .
A very big thank you to Sue & Chris Magnus, Alan Andrews, John Kempson, Camel, Lefty Wright, John Barton for helping set up the Guild stand at 2009 classic car show at NEC, cleaning there cars on the Thursday ready for press and public on Friday. A very busy week end for all talking to the public about their cars and the Guild and what we are about and also to promoting merchandise and calendars. We attracted a lot of attention. Also thank you to our new members who joined us and to members who visited us over the week end.
I have booked a stand for next year fingers crossed in hoping the Guild is allocated one 12-14 Nov 2010
2010 Show Dates. If you are made aware of any show dates [many thanks for those so far received by the way!] please can we have these as soon as possible for inclusion in our comprehensive guide which will appear in the next edition of News & Views.
And finally . . . .
During a recent foray to Germany Mr Wright reports his Minster was overtaken by some Buggatti Veyron. Presumably the first time one of these has ‘seen’ a Granada!
Please note that views expressed in this publication are not necessarily those of The Ford Granada Mk1 & Mk2 Drivers Guild or the Editorial team.
